This work happened during my time at Studio Mosaic, together with the Studio Mosaic team. The strategy, what we learned and the results came from that collaboration: my thinking and the team's knowledge and work, side by side.
ask first,then show them.
Warrp is an Australian app for buying and selling second-hand. Downloads had stalled. The fix started inside the app, with one simple question, before we pushed the ads harder.
stalled downloads, a generic first screen
three steps, in this order
Reviewed the whole funnel.
From the first ad to someone actually browsing listings, to find where new users were dropping off.
Asked one question during onboarding.
What are you looking for? That single answer let the app show more relevant products from the very first screen.
Then scaled the ads.
With a better first experience to send people to, the Apple Search Ads and Meta campaigns worked harder. The average cost per install came down by half.
the people who came stayed
three things I still use
If active users lag behind downloads, look inside the app before buying more traffic.
One good question can change everything someone sees next.
Fix the first experience, then scale the ads.
let's find what's holding your growth back
A Growth Diagnostic looks at your ads, funnel, pricing and tracking together, and tells you what to fix first. Five working days.
